This is a special event designed to raise community visibility for both Curve Magazine and FlawLes Media. This is the first, co-presented event with both organizations publicizing and solidifying a new media partnership and will create the setting to reveal and launch a new, mobile membership application for the lesbian and queer community.

SAN DIEGO, Calif.: Curve Magazine and FlawLes Media announce a partnership that buttons up in-style as they co-present The Tie Party on Saturday, October 22nd. The Tie Party, FlawLes’ signature event, is designed to raise community visibility while uniting the LGBT community on all fronts.  The event’s marquee name pulls from the requirement that all event-goers sport their favorite tie – the event’s symbol for tying communities together, one city at a time. Madonna’s “go-to DJ”, Superstar DJ Tracy Young blesses the headline of this groundbreaking special event.

Curve Magazine, the largest and most widely read print publication for lesbians in North America, celebrates a legacy of over twenty years of publishing to a rapidly changing demographic made up of some of the most loyal consumers in the market. FlawLes is a lifestyle and entertainment media group that focuses strategically on the lesbian and queer markets. Between the two powerhouses, offerings range from online and print publishing to cutting-edge media and special events.

Silke Bader, CEO of Curve Magazine, remarks of the recent partnership with FlawLes Media: “I want readers to know how important it is to us to continue to innovate and meet their needs first. The event will take place at One Leidesdorff, a unique venue located in San Francisco’s financial district – a venue which used to be a bank and is still currently equipped with multiple bank vaults and teller stations that transform into bars at special events. “We chose this venue since it has a rich history and reputation that matched the boldness and vision of The Tie Party”, says Wendy Ochoa, Creative Art Director and Co-founder of FlawLes.

The Tie Party aims to bridge the inherent gaps that exist in the LGBT community. By combining cutting-edge production with the mélange of leading talent, the event will brand itself as the future of events. “For one night, we want to create an event and experience that freezes a picture into the minds of each Tie Party guest – an image that our community is as strong as ever, and dedicated to celebrating a future of creativity, innovation and community cross-collaboration for the next generation” said Talonya Geary, Executive Director of FlawLes Media.

The Tie Party is sponsored by American Airlines, Go Girl Energy Drink and Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants who have also signed-on as the official host hotel. Olivia, Sweet and American Airlines have all been on boarded as sponsors by offering cruises, luxury vacations and international flights as prize giveaways.
